I Want You to know–TommyLee Dean

I want you to know the contempt I feel. I need you to know in order to purge it from my body in a more civil manner than that which I really want to. Get it out before it eats away at all the hard work I have put into becoming more corrigible and all my effort becomes null. I want you to know that I did not fail a vulnerable, elderly person being mistreated and held hostage – you did. Each and everyone of you who is supposed to serve the public through whichever position, office or rank you hold in your army of law enforcement and/or corrections. You who, I would assume, took some sort of oath swearing to uphold the law and do everything in your power to protect those in society who might fall victim to predators out robbing, stealing, raping, assaulting, killing and destroying – an oath to protect those just like this elderly person you left in harm’s way when.you could not even be decent enough to place a phone call or e-mail asking the authorities in her area to do a welfare check. I want you to know that I reported this in plenty of time to save this poor woman from the fate you so dastardly left her to suffer. Perhaps I soiled her prestige by being the one to report it? The shitbag I have been for the majority of my life, in your eyes I and all those who have any connection to me get what we deserve when we are the victim of misfortune – is that it? You maliciously turned your back on this American citizen because her sin was being of importance to me – is that what happened here? Maybe it wasn’t romantic enough, for you, to actually put forth the effort helping this person because there would be no arrest? Or is it simply negligence on your behalf? Did you break a law by not acting? I have broken laws, too, but you get away with it by possessing some sort of badge that places you above the law, right?

I am not saying I have been a good person because I most definitely have not, but no matter how pernicious I ever was I never hurt children or the elderly through direct action or lack thereof. My gang-banging, Punk Rock buddies and I walking down the street, looking for trouble because our numbers were in the double digits, could still find the decency to get involved with a dear little old lady struggling to move a picnic table in her front yard. The look on her face as we swarmed through the gate and jumped the fence to offer our muscle. After placing the table where directed to, the gratitude she showed by offering us cash that we actually turned down. I remember it well. Another time my friend, Tiny, and I rounded the corner of the neighborhood grocery to find some guy standing over an unconscious elderly person lying on the hot sidewalk, in the sun; I recall her purse close by and a tomato with a bite or two out of it. We scared him. He quickly said: “Woe, fellas, I found her like this. My girlfriend ran to the pay phone to call an ambulance.” We stayed to make sure this was the truth. It had been, the EMTs said the heat was more than likely to blame as they loaded her and the purse into their emergency vehicle. All the times I cleaned house-gutters for friends’ moms because these friends were indisposed one way or another. Again, I tried to help a friend’s mom but you decided, for some reason, that this was not your problem and did not step in. You left her to sit in her own bodily waste, after I told you the people she lived with were doing this to her. A urinary tract infection you allowed six more months to get so severe as to give her a stroke, this was the result of this neglected individual sitting in the piss and shit I told you about!

Now that it’s too late, she has all the consideration you refused to give – hospice is involved. Like a modern day Anubis, these people are helping her transition into her passing because, need I remind you, that’s what hospice does. I could scream at you that your indifference killed this person, but it would make no difference. How might I expect someone who makes a living off of managing those of us forced to live in cages for our wrong decisions to have any compassion for this elderly person you played a part in killing? The number of prisoners you let die from COVID and all those who die annually because of the ineptitude of your medical department are all the proof I need to realize that you really do not care. We are simply getting what we deserve for being the subhumans that we are, right? Those who know us can also get what they deserve for having any kind of connection to a piece of trash such as anyone of us, correct? Is this how you see it? How you see us? The evidence is staggering.

Of course, you will more than likely deny that I ever reported this to anyone, but that does not matter at this point when people read this at one of the numerous outlets it has been sent, some will believe me. That’s all I care about. I want the world to know my perception of what rotten people you are. I want this story to take its place amongst all the other stories of police brutality and vicious authority figures so that it, too, will resonate and expose you for what you really are. Of course, you will probably retaliate and get even with me for shining light on your cruelty. Since your Executive Director of this Department of Corrections sits on the clemency advisement committee, you will probably get the commutation I have put in for denied. It does not matter, though. Whatever vengeance you take on me will not overshadow the pain already in my heart because of the suffering this poor lady had to endure, leading to the ending of her life, as a result of your deliberate inaction. I do not care what you do to me at this point, I simply want the world to know what terrible and heartless people you truly are.
