Today I take the step of presenting to the world an idea that Tommy Lee Dean and I had and Emanuel Theus-Roberts has gotten solidly behind— Imprisoned writers and artists have a right to share their work with the outside world and get support, advocacy, critiquing and exposure to an audience.
There are some good programs and organizations out there that facilitate this goal. (We will be adding links.) PWSO (Prison Writers Support Organization, Inc.) seeks to augment and fill in the needs that are not being met and make connections with people and organizations that support this.
My personal goals for PWSO are: 1. Provide an independent voice for prison writers and artists to tell it like it is without Department of Corrections or government editing the content. 2. Link to fellow writers, publishers, editors, prisoners rights advocates and just plain people who want to help. 3. Let writers and artists provide links to where their work can be viewed, read and/or purchased. 4. Hear from people that want to help,
My only claim to control this space and its content are as an instigator. I want to hear different opinions and ideas. All I ask is please add to the content.

Just discovered your site today! I am an advocate for two wonderful human beings who happen to have been federal prisoners for many decades. Both are Native American. I started a blog just to give voice to the two of them. Ghost Dancer is dedicated to teaching others about his Creek Indian heritage on his blog. https://journeysofthespirit.blog/walk-the-sacred-path/ I’m also posting a link for Steven Walks On The Grass, who has written a book about his personal spiritual journey through 37 years in prison. https://journeysofthespirit.blog/long-road-home/. I have read and enjoyed several of your posts and wish each of your writers every success. Edna P. Dixon
